DURGA PUJA IN MY VILLAGE:AFTER A LONG TIME...

Being in the village certainly brings about with itself, a lot of goodies for me.I after some planning decided to spend my mid semester break,in my village. It had been quite some time since I spent a week in my village and hence a visit seemed almost necessary.Well there was not much time for a reserved seat and hence I was forced to spend my time sitting 16 hours in the train. It was not much of a difficulty and I reached Patna at midnight after starting from home in the morning.Well to my surprise I found the station clean and hygenic, something I did not expect, not in Patna at least!Well I then boarded a bus in the morning and the trip was more enjoyable than I had expected as the roads have become extremely comfortable nowadays in Bihar and I was home at around 10.People in the village are extremely nice and the contrast seems completely when you just arrive form a city like Delhi. Well it is festive season here and Durga Puja is everywhere in the environment.People are extremely

MY VIEWS ON THE TOPIC-"CAN SCIENCE AND RELIGION CO EXIST AND CO-OPERATE TOGETHER

Good morning/afternoon folks. It feels nice having an opportunity to present my views on a topic which almost everyone of us thinks about. In this fast paced life,If people today can live a life where your loved ones are a click away, where you can brodcast your ideas to millions of people in a second,if you don't have to think much before going to the other corner of the world,if world has become a-”global village”,we all have to agree to the point that man has on account of the development of his brain has--- made it large. The developments which sometimes even the nature seems to salute. From learning to walk on earth and owning it to walking on the moon and beyond …...we have achieved what would have been a miracle few centuries ago. But amidst all this glorious feats,...we should not ignore that the human being has been going through chronological development in this nature. And that we have developed upto this stage doesn't make us forget we once were forest people, dwe

AS I GRADUATE.....

Motivation is needed in every walk of life.Whether we are kids or grown ups there are instances when we start doubting ourselves, and things go way off the limits sometimes and we often create an emotional mess,to get out of which seems a daunting task! So,right at that point we need someone to inspire us,some person to look up to.Some ideas to pick us up or maybe some friend to offer his/her shoulder,at least. Those who have company often share their emotions and hence face every situation collectively. They don't have a lot of problems tackling individual issues provided the company is good. Each one helps the other in facing the situations, this lack of motivation as well. People like me who don't prefer company have to develop some kind of inner mechanism so that when every thing seem down, there is an inner sense of confidence to pick us up. I feel this confidence is not optional and as we get out there in the world it is often left to us alone,to face the t

FAILED ONCE?SO WHAT,NEVER LOSE YOUR MORALE

Whenever we try to do anything creative, there are chances that we are going to fail.Edison failed 2000 times before he could finally invent a proper light bulb! The bicycle we ride today is a result of hundreds of failed attempts to make a proper one.Every successful person has a long list of failures preceding him. There are a lot many examples out there which make us think failing is not such an alien thing. never let failures dictate terms to you. Why do we get scared when we fail?  What is it that disappoints us in the event of a failure?    Normally it gets like this-We set out our plans and then bundle up lot of expectation from our efforts which are generally based on vague assumptions. Then we chain ourselves to such an extent that failing can not be the case at all! We so readily ignore the natural law.It is but normal to fail quite a lot.The largest of corporations, set up in various parts of the world are a result of many failed attempts to set up one.Rightly it is

MY AFSB INTERVIEW AT VARANASI

Joining the defence forces has been one of my passions ever since childhood, after school though,it did not seem to be a good idea to join the defence academy straightway, but after graduating and spending three cheerful years in college,as I got an opportunity to join the forces,I applied for the CDS exams in February this year.It was an easy exam from my standards and I was pretty sure to qualify and move on to the next level.I did,and was called for the interview at AFSB-Varanasi in August. I was thrilled to meet air force officers and talk to them and being tested by them seemed to be an opportunity too exciting to describe.I always have been excited by the sight of men in uniform and wish to become one myself as well! So with the call for AFSB confirmed I began preparing for it.Since it was my debut,I relied on some helpful websites which provided the necessary information about the procedure there, and the things to carry with myself etc.I had two weeks or so,before I had to r

TRIP TO HARIDWAR AND RISHIKESH

A trip to places like Haridwar and Rishikesh is always a source of peace, joy and spirituality and when we went to these places this month, it was no different. We had some free time and I along with my two other friends decided to visit Haridwar as well as Rishikesh for a short 4 day trip.As I had spent my childhood in a nearby town, naturally these places were well travelled by me . Day-1:Bus to Haridwar We got up early in the morning,at around 0445,hurriedly got dressed up,called each other and ran off to the ISBT at kashmiri gate to catch an early bus to Haridwar.I was extremely careful to catch the bus as early as possible because of the traffic at the border growing up a few hours later. We expected to catch the bus at around 0700,but as it always happens,we were delayed by around 30 minutes and managed to board the bus as 0730.It was a smooth journey, early in the morning a lot of fresh air poured in,later as it was not too hot,we enjoyed riding the bus in the bright sunshi

THE EARTH AND BEYOND...I WONDER.....

Recently I came across a photograph showing the view of earth from the lunar surface. What a breathtaking image it is! I don't know why but I can't stop looking at it.I am in love with this photograph even though I have seen it a lot of times in the past too.We all love our mother earth don't we?How she sustains us unconditionally. We are born here, play for a lifetime then leave, just the way it is.Looking at the earth, the tiny blue sphere that it appears like from the lunar surface made me realize how tiny we humans are in the scheme of things. At the same time it made me forget all the day to day worries we  face. There have been a lot of questions in my mind, regarding the origin of life, the purpose of it as well as the sustainability.Somehow,I don't agree with the explanation religions provides with the creationist theory. The scientific theory of the evolution provides some answers, but to only an extent.I believe it has a long way to go before it offers a comprehe
